What’s New

Gajim now shows a hint it it’s night for your contact. Both Conversations and Dino show this hint as well. If you set your current timezone in your profile, this may help others to reach you better. Also, it’s now easier to disable Gajim’s automatic timezone update notifications.

There have been some improvements for Gajim’s acitivity feed, including a menu item to mark all feed entries as read. Notifications for reactions to your messages will now only be added if you’re not viewing the chat at that moment. Also, opening a chat will mark all relevant feed entries as read.

If someone mentions you in a chat, Gajim highlights the corresponding message. Gajim now marks these messages with an @-sign and an indicator. The @-sign is shown in the chat list as well, making it easier to spot when you’ve been mentioned.

Improvements and Fixed Issues

• Chat: Jumping to older messages and message scrolling has been fixed
• Account creation: An issue which occurred when trying to sign up for new account has been fixed
• Voice messages: Bitrate for Opus-encoded voice messages has been reduced to match Conversations behavior
• Gajim now sanitizes file names of received files from misleading right-to-left characters, and a warning is shown before opening potentially executable files
