Gajim 2.4.5 lets you know when somebody reacted to one of your messages. It also comes with automatic timezone updates and improvements for macOS, and bugfixes. Thank you for all your contributions!
Reacting to messages offers a quick way of answering or acknowleding your contact’s message. It may be a simple ๐ or it may carry emotions ๐๐ and meaning. So far, Gajim did not notify you when your contact reacted to one of your messages, and thus these reactions may have gone unnoticed, until you opened the chat again. With Gajim 2.4.5, you’ll get a notification for each reaction. Of course this can be disabled in Gajim’s preferences (for chats and for group chats separately). All reaction notifications are gathered in Gajim’s activity feed, which is reachable using the bell button in the top left corner. From there, you can jump directly to the message which has been reacted to.

A notification for a reaction
Gajim now checks if you publish your current timezone in your profile. If you didn’t publish your timezone before, or if it differs from your current timezone, Gajim will ask whether you want to update your profile. Publishing your timezone may help your contacts when they try to reach you.
Additionally, support for Entity Time (XEP-0202) has been restored to improve interoperability with other chat apps displaying timezones (e.g. Conversations).
